As you may or may not know, there are tons of digital nomads that just got dropped off in Brazil on a giant cruise ship a few weeks ago. Many of them have choosing to stay for a while. Also, The Entrepreneur House ~ Rio is going to begin soon. Many digital nomads are also stationed in Florianopolis, São Paulo and elsewhere in Brazil. The energy in Brazil is palatable, it’s all happening here this austral summer, and we want you to be a part of it.
Therefore we are throwing the most epic DCx event in history: DCxRIO 2016. This isn’t going to be any typical Junto. Chris Reynolds’ and I have activity after activity planned for both fun and business.
We want to keep things personal, therefore we are limiting it to 25 attendees.
What will be the format?
Conference – Four short talks + a quick mini-mastermind: We will have 4 speakers at the event giving short, engaging presentations, followed by a quick 50 minute mastermind, where people will sit in a table of 5. Everyone gets 10 minutes to propose a couple questions about challenges they have in their business. This will be followed by dinner and drinks.
Speakers – TBA – We’ll post it here as soon we we have a full lineup.
Focus 55 – Feb 22-24 (optional): Everyone feels good after attending a conference or mastermind, but don’t you want to go home with tangible results vs just new “ideas?” Then the Focus 55 is for you. From Monday morning until Wednesday mid-day we will participate in an intense 55 hour co-working sesssion with A BIG GOAL to hack-away at and accomplish. Each person sets a goal Sunday evening to knock out during that timeline. Monday morning is the official start time, and then we have a daily check-in to see how everyone is doing and how they can help one another out. Each person has the option to work in the preferred environment of their choice. many choose to work together at coffee shops or co-working spaces; others prefer their own apartment or hotel room. Each evening at 8pm will be our check-in time to see how we are progressing. Till Carlos and Noah Everton explain the Focus55 in this post here.
This setup is extremely effective towards accomplishing a big goal, having people that you are accountable for around you will make you work more effectively.
Aren’t plane tickets/lodging going to be expensive because of Carnival?
No, for two reasons. First, Carnival ends Feb 10th. By Feb 15th everyone is out of town and prices are back to normal summer prices. Second, Brazil is a great value this year because the Brazilian currency is very undervalued right now. Plane tickets and especially lodging should be reasonable.
Feb 18th – Rio De Janeiro Junto (A Junto is a meetup for fellow members of the DC and those with an invitation. Our talks are based around being a location independent online entrepreneur/digital nomad), followed by dinner/drinks.
Feb 19th – Beach Day
Feb 20th – Approximately (1pm – 6pm) Main Event, followed by dinner & drinks.
Feb 21st – Beach day / organized activity (TBA). Evening: Focus 55 goal setting session
Feb 22nd – 24th (optional) – Focus 55
